Context
Invoicing is often split across spreadsheets, one-off templates and scattered files. Teams need a single workspace to keep clients, products, tax settings and the full invoice lifecycle together.
Objective
Give businesses a clear flow: set up the company profile, manage clients and products, create invoices and quotes with automatic calculations, preview documents in real time, and export professional PDFs in one click.
Solution
A Next.js 16 frontend with a NestJS 11 API and PostgreSQL. Session security uses JWT access and refresh tokens; registration is verified by email OTP. Invoices and quotes are built in a split view with live HTML preview, then exported to PDF via Puppeteer across 18 layout styles. Company profile, tax rules, bulk CSV/XLSX import, quote-to-invoice conversion, dashboard KPIs and in-app help complete the product flow. Deployed on Vercel (frontend), Render (API + database), with Docker Compose and GitHub Actions CI.
Product
InvoiceFlow is an invoicing and financial tracking platform. Users sign up with email verification, complete their company profile, then create invoices and quotes from real client and product data. Totals (subtotal, tax, total) update live as line items are added. The document preview sits next to the form and updates in real time before PDF export. The dashboard covers invoices, quotes, customers, products, document styles, reports and settings. Users can import clients and products in bulk (CSV/XLSX), convert a quote into an invoice in one click, pick from 18 PDF styles, manage tax rules, and follow KPIs on the overview and reports pages. In-app help guides cover setup and day-to-day use.
